4 Questions to Ask Before You Buy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Can you mount hardware on the ceiling?
Yes: Go with Normal Throw. It gives you the best picture quality and optical zoom range per dollar spent.
No: Stick to UST (placed on a media console) or Mid-Short Throw (placed on a coffee table).

2. How much foot traffic passes between the seats and the screen?
If kids, pets, or guests regularly walk through the room, standard throw projectors will constantly cast distracting shadows. Choose UST or Short Throw to keep the light path tight against the wall.

3. What is your screen wall surface?
Standard Wall / Basic Screen: Works great for Normal, Short, and Long throw projectors.
Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) Screen: Essential for UST projectors. Because UST shoots light upward at steep angles, using a bumpy standard drywall will create severe hot-spotting and shadow distortion.

4. How dark can you get the room?

Bright living rooms with ambient daylight benefit most from UST projectors paired with serrated ALR screens, which block overhead ambient light while reflecting the steep projector beam directly to your eyes.
Quick Decision Checklist
Choose Ultra Short Throw if you want a clean 100"+ TV replacement without long cable runs or mounting.
Choose Short Throw if you want a massive screen in a tiny room or need open space for motion gaming.
Choose Mid / Mid-Short Throw if you want a grab-and-go projector for flexible indoor/outdoor movie nights.
Choose Normal Throw if you have a dedicated room where you can ceiling-mount the unit overhead.
Choose Long Throw if your projector sits in a projection booth or at the back of an auditorium.
